Candice has been an active member of the online social community since 1997 when she joined re.arts.xfiles, got an ICQ account, started blogging, and began building a community online. After spending 10 years managing a small local butcher shop and 5 years running her own prepared food deli, she chose to make her hobby her career and joined a digital media company as the sales and marketing manager.

Candice spent 2 years marketing digital media to the Guelph business community, providing strategy development, script writing, assistant directing, event management, and acted as on air personality for video and audio series.

During those 2 years she also ran the online marketing campaign for a serialized 25 episode fantasy series made to air on the web, building community and fan bases through online social networks.

Now she owns Circle of Media, helping clients navigate the endless cycle of content curation, creation and circulation. She’s worked with companies in many industries, including the health field, not-for-profits and charities, clean technology, retail, real estate, mortgages and insurance.

Candice has 10 years of experience managing, hosting and marketing events, having worked with science fiction and fantasy conventions including Polaris (previously Toronto Trek), GenreCon, and Sunnydale Central, cultural events such as Ignite Guelph, and film festivals including Sharp Cuts.

Candice is an accredited Hubspot Inbound Marketer, graduate of the YouTube Creator Academy, a certified HootSuite Professional, and has extensive experience in social media campaigns on Facebook and Twitter.
