City Julep is a southern girl cooking in a citified world. Born and raised in the hills of Tennessee and now living out my dreams in the big city.
Food is and always will be my lauangue of love. I believe that food really is something to connect to our past, present, and future. I was raised on homegrown vegetables and family dinners, which doesn't always fit into my real world schedule.
My beliefs that pie crust should be homemade, women should wear pearls, and my daddy is always perfect will always be a part of me, but times are a changing and I do believe white may be worn after labor day. My passion for homecooking is what you will find here, and yes sometimes that will involve a box cake mix, and no I do not think that makes me a bad person.
Thank you for taking the time to read my recipes, they really are from my heart and from my own head. Who knows where my journey of being a City Julep will take me, I pray the road is long, and that I remember to take it one step at a time...
