About the Author Melvin Farmer, a 58 year- old Father of three, attended All High Schools, After his released from prison, he attended Long Beach City College, Farmer has the distinction of being the first convict sentenced under the three strikes law who had his case reversed and was released from prison, Farmer once sat in prison as a lifer, now he is an advocate to advocate to abolish the unjust law that snatched away his freedom, Melvin is a voice in the community, a community activist and the organizer of Coalition Opposed to California Three Strikes Law. "Farmer addresses teens on crime prevention and peer presure. He speaks to parents reguarding early warning signals that spell trouble and counsels parents with children who are incarcerated.
