Student, Artist, and Fitness Instructor in Los Angeles, California
I'm a Marine veteran currently pursuing a career as a Bio-mechanical Engineer. It's definitely a passion of mine, and at the moment, I'm working with a team of students like myself to research and build prosthetic prototypes that can be used intuitively by the user. My end goal is to be able to integrate man and machine to be able to replace the lost part of the person to make them whole physically by looking at the whole person and building the prosthetic from the inside out, instead of the outside in.
With my background as an artist/sculptor and as a professional fitness trainer, I am taking that knowledge with me into the STEM field of Bionics to find innovative ways to bridge the gap between a prosthetic that is nothing more than a tool, to something that is truly as a part of the person as their biological selves so that they can completely forget that they even have a prosthetic on, and focus on resuming their lives instead of changing their lives.
