CJ Jayasekera

My name is Charith Jayasekera, but most know me as CJ. I am currently a junior at UMass Amherst pursuing a degree in accounting.

A passion of mine is the sport of football. I began playing when I was 6 years old and continued playing throughout high school. My years of playing football have taught me countless valuable lessons that I still apply in my life today. One thing that has stuck with me through all these years is the constant need for self-improvement. There is always room for improvement. This is something that I apply to every aspect of my life. Whether it is an extra night of studying before a big a exam or extra reps at the rec center, I believe that it is imperative to never allow yourself to become complacent.

Today, I try to instill this mindset into the youth football players surrounding my hometown. I coach clinics at my high school that focus on both the fundamental skills of the game as well as the value of hardwork.
