Carol Jarvis

My greatest accomplishment has been my family. I have been married to the same man for 45 years (I know, that's unheard of these days). Now brace yourself for the next...we have 6 married children who have given us 20 awesome grandchildren. We have seen the world and are now living back in Utah, living between two homes, one in the mountains and one in the desert. We also have a condo close to a beach. I know how very lucky I am.

But actually I live out of a suitcase. My husband who worked in the International Division at Hallmark Greeting Cards and has been on the Board of Directors of People to People International for many years has "ants in his pants" and can't stay in one place more than a couple of days. Between our enthusiasm for international travel and learning about new cultures around the world, we have a challenge going around the USA trying to get to know our grandchildren who live in five different states.

I absolutely love writing funny little poems and have co-authored and published a series of children's storybooks called Ellie Rose Learns and Grows. I have written lyrics to several songs, from country western to spiritual (anyone know a music publisher).

I am a child abuse survivor and have learned to "forgive and forget." Living many years with depression and those sad and twisted memories of my youth, I have overcome the trauma and guilt associated with sexual child abuse. I have learned to balance my life in order to have good health and peace of mind. Well...to be honest, I'm still working on the good health part. (I have totally lousy health). However, I'm kind of a "know-it-all" and would love to share some of the insight I have learned about overcoming adversity and moving on.
