Christopher Evans
3D CAD Designer and Runner in Gold Coast, Australia
I started out my engineering career from studying mechanical engineering in 2009-2010 to obtain an advanced diploma. During my last year studying I managed to get a cadetship in computer aided drafting at a company called QMW Industries which was the catalyst in my design and engineering career.
My career over the last 6 years has been a diverse one as I've been involved in the mining industry design safety structures, the agricultural field designing grain silos and walkway conveyor systems, medical field designing surgical tools for anterior and posterior surgery, chemical industry by redesigning wastewater treatment plants and chemical dosing skids, and lastly designing machinery for timber roof trusses.
Throughout this journey, I have developed many traits and attributes whilst working in the engineering field. Many of them have broadened my mindset towards designing, drafting, marketing, and clientele-consultation.
After explaining my career background, it shows that I’ve great deal of experience in the field as being somewhat intrapreneurial. Now I’m at the point where I have decided to venture out on my own and become entrepreneurial by creating a product that customers actually need: a tool that will help disrupt their business before it’s too late and they become obsolete.
Travel is also big part of my life. I've been lucky enough to have visited 27 countries in the space of 2 years. I've made some long-life friends, experienced various cultures, and would love to work a business where travel could be incorporated within the lifestyle.
As well as designing and travelling, I'm also an avid endurance runner. After running 8 marathons in 2015, I've decided to push myself this year (2016). As well as doing 20+ massive endurance events in one year with a friend, we are planning on raising at least $20k for the Cancer Council QLD. With the amount of training and marathons we are doing, we will probably clock 2000+ kms each this year!
