Dr. Hameed is a physician, HIMSS fellow and clinical Informatics executive with more than 12 years’ experience in healthcare and health informatics systems management. In his current role, as the director of medical informatics at PEPID, he leads a team of clinicians and informaticists and serves as the Editor-in-Chief for numerous PEPID products developed for different clinical settings such as emergency medicine, family practice, pharmacy, nursing and other specialties. He has been involved in developing several population management related clinical solutions, data analytics and decision support systems, which have been implemented in US, Canada and several international hospitals and healthcare systems.

Dr. Hameed is also an adjunct assistant professor at Chicago State, Northeastern and Midwestern Universities. As an active member of the Health Information Management System Society (HIMSS), he is a member of the Physician Informatics and several other national HIMSS and HL7 committees. He recently served as a board member and the Chair of Clinical Informatics Committee for Arizona HIMSS (AzHIMSS) in 2014-2015 and newly appointed Chair of Physician Executive committee for Arizona Health Executives (AHE). He is also an active member of American College of Healthcare Executive (ACHE), Health Level Seven International (HL7) and American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA). He was the Physician Peer Reviewer for HIMSS13 and proposal reviewer for HIMSS14, HIMSS15, AMIA15 and upcoming HIMSS16 Annual Conferences. Recently, he become a peer reviewer for the Journal of Healthcare Management (JHIM) and is involved in HIT research, and scientific publications. Dr. Hameed completed his graduate studies in health informatics from Northeastern University and School of Biomedical informatics, UT Houston Health Science Center and holds a medical degree from Dow University of Health Sciences.
