I am a creator. I have to create. It's a compulsion, a drive. I'm not happy if I'm not making something that I'm proud of, whether it's a song, or a script, a podcast, or an improvised scene on stage. I have to create new things, I can't not, it's simply not possible. I am always and will always be having new ideas and making them into reality, whatever that entails, and I will never stop. I want to make things that are worth making.
If I've made you smile or I've made you think, I'm happy.
If something needs doing, and if I can't do it, I learn how. There's nothing I can't do, only things I can't do YET. We don't have a graphic designer? Guess I'll learn how to do graphic design, here's a poster. Someone needs to edit this podcast? Sure I can figure that out, here's a nicely produced podcast. Anything, everything, and if you don't believe me you can check this page again in five years and see for yourself.
I am a National Merit Scholar, which has allowed me to pursue two degrees in college. I'm studying for a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and a B.A. in Communication, and will be graduating in Spring 2015 (cum laude, if all goes according to plan!).
I am very passionate about Comedy, especially Improv Comedy in particular, though I spend a lot of time doing stand-up comedy and comedic screenwriting as well. I spend most of my free time as the President of the Improv@USF Student Organization, and as a director of the local non-profit Improv Theater "Post Dinner Conversation, Inc."
My dual-interests of science and improvisation may seem unrelated at first glance, but I've found that my experiences in one always seems to help the other. My time improvising and managing a 50-person theater company have allowed me to become a bridge between people, erasing miscommunication and framing ideas and situations in a way that everyone can understand, while my experiences in the medical world give me a wealth of ideas and situations to pull from when writing or performing.
