London

Christopher-John Charles II Nation was born in London to his Father Mark Walker his Mother Annika Nation-Reid a Welsh native.

CJ was raised in a single parent home and supported by his Grandmother whom he has a close relationship with. At the age of 16 he returned to his home town of London to pursue his A' level studies in the City of Westminster College.

CJ became a Young Carer at the age of 6 following his mother being diagnosed with a clinical Depressive Disorder. In 2006 CJ's life would change forever when his mother was left with a physical impairment from a domestic dispute with her ex-partner. At 9 years old he became her Primary Carer. Tragedy struck when his mother was involved in a road traffic accident leaving her with a new medical condition called Fibromyalgia.

Following an introduction to Radio Cardiff managers he was trained to be a "Youth Beats" presenter, in the following years he became an independent DJ at Spice Route's Restaurant in the Cardiff Bay Red Dragon Centre.

In 2008 CJ went along to open days and took entrance examinations at two of Wales's most prestigious schools. He passed both examinations and was offered a place at both schools. He chose to attend The Cathedral School.

Through lack of support from the school, and other services CJ lost his place at The Cathedral School as his caring role became more demanding.

Building an online social media presence for himself he would catch the attention of Shout Magazine who featured a 2 page spread on the radio personality, his co-host and the station building a national awareness of young carer roles.

During 2012 Black History Month Wales CJ was invited to be a guest speaker discussing the issues surrounding young caribbean boys in education in Wales.

In 2013 CJ won the BBC Rotary Great Britain and Ireland Young Citizens Award for his work in radio and as a young carer activist. He chose to donate the prize money back to the young carer organisation that had initially supported him in his hours of need.

It 's CJ hope to train other young carers in radio broadcast so they can tell their oral stories and have the same opportunities he has gained through mediia.
