Lived all my life in New Zealand in the South Pacific but well travelled throughout the world. This has given me a real appreciation of what we have in our pristine country far removed from all the impacts of industrialisation. And as an indigenous Maori person, the impacts of industrialisation in the Northern Hemisphere together with the impacts of climate change has given me a very strong sense that there has to be a 'better-way' of designing and managing global development and growth. I spend a lot of time today promoting development that is sustainable economically, environmentally, socially and attuned to the interests of indigenous people of the world.
