RELEVANT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Followed standard procedure to halter and lead horses in a safe manner

· General daily care of broodmares and foals including administering medication when needed

· Held lead line in the proper manner to ensure optimum safety of self and horse

· Fastened cross ties to perform grooming and tacking procedures (English and western styles)

· Remained calm and maintained composure when dealing with challenging behaviours from horses

· Turned in and turned out horses while ensuring safety of all horses in the area

· Groomed and bathed horse (picked hooves, curry comb, hard brush, mane comb, tail brush, face brush and wash, brush ears, hot towelling, check for lameness and unsoundness, sweat scraper , hose horses or clean with water buckets)

· Maintained foot care and informed farrier of any hoof problems

· Exercised horses

· Inspected all tack and equipment for wear and tear prior to each use to ensure safety

· Performed all duties involved in a stall care including; mucking; dusting and checking feed and water

· Performed all duties involved in stable management including; ensuring all floors are free from debris to ensure safety of horses and staff, maintaining feed charts and following horses schedules
