Claire McBride, MFT, RMT

San Francisco, California, United States

Trained in a variety of modalities-including depth and transpersonal approaches as well as more grounded and practical methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy, I am, at root, integral, holistic and client-centered. I am interested in all dimensions of a person, and I take the whole person (Mind, Body and Spirit) into account in my work.

Profoundly empathetic and compassionate to my core, I am engaged in my style and always consider the larger context of a client's life, including environment, relationships, professional goals, spiritual needs, stress management strategies, and overall wellness-including, if relevant-the inquiry into the deeper meaning and purpose of one's life.

Working with individuals in all life stages-from toddlerhood to elderhood, I specialize in mood disorders, child and adolescent behavioral and adjustment issues, anxiety and stress management, addictions and eating disorders, sexuality and intimacy issues, cultural issues, family dynamics, and trauma resolution. I have a special interest in issues concerning spiritual crisis, creativity, life transition, the role of nature in healing, and clarification of life destiny.

I believe that crises or challenges offer unique opportunities for profound transformation and growth, and that such growth emerges from the strength, rapport and trust between client and therapist. In a counseling session, I support clients in activating their "inner healer-"that is, the clients' ability to heal themselves.

As an actively engaged, solution-focused therapist, I assist in bringing forward the client's ability to access the resources already available within. I am invested in supporting my clients in high-level optimal wellness from the ground up-not simply relief from symptoms.

With a fierce dedication to and investment in the long-term sustainable wellness of my clients, I absolutely adore the work that I am privileged to do! I wholeheartedly welcome you into my practice, and I look forward to supporting you in your goals for your life.
