Claire Price

I am a South African-born scientist currently working at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, the Netherlands, as a Post doctoral researcher. I have extensive experience with bacterial membrane proteins, an area in which I wish to continue. In the long term, I would like to use my expertise for the development and design of rational protein engineering/evolution strategies. My current research is focused on the stability of Lactococcus lactis strains and adaptative evolution during long term cultivation using a systems biology approach. I obtained my PhD at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in Molecular Microbiology, specializing in the elucidation of mechanisms of membrane protein insertion in Escherichia coli. I am an active member of the laboratory, contributing to online departmental websites as well as the organization of socially-orientated work activities.
