Claire Warmenbol
Claire started her career with retirement. Yes, that's right. She started with taking 5 years off after high school to explore the world and broaden her horizons from the Belgian shores where she grew up. She spent a year crossing Africa overland, she was a scuba master on the Caribbean island of Grenada, she volunteered on farms, schools, and for NGOs across Asia and Central America. Then she went on to get a university degree in Environment and Development from Melbourne University, Australia.
Now Claire works for the world's largest environmental organisation, the IUCN - International Union for Conservation of Nature. She coordinates communications for the Global Water Programme.
Claire also produces environmental documentaries, with a particular focus on participatory video.
