Dr. Clara Coleman Rouse

I am an accomplished educator with extensive expertise in driving student achievement and operational excellence. I am particularly effective in improving student outcomes and known for building leadership teams that deliver measurable academic results.

I have served as Senior Vice President and Regional Operations Officer for EdisonLearning. As Regional Operations Officer for EdisonLeaening, I was responsible for educational services including client relationships, student achievement and financial management for the nearly 400,000 students served by EdisonLearning.

Prior to joining EdisonLearning in 2001, I served as a teacher and principal in Centralia City Schools in Centralia, IL and Deputy Superintendent in Ravenswood City School District in East Palo Alto, CA.

I remain committed to making a difference in the lives of young people and can be heard to say, "If I can't make a difference in students' lives, then I will go and sell Tupperware."

Although I travel extensively, I remain active in my church and community. I serve on the board of Trustees and finance committee for People of Christ Missionary Baptist Church, member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Livermore Valley BPW and an active member of Tracy African American Association. In addition I am a life member of the National Alliance of Black School Educators and a life member of the SIU Alumni Association.

During my career I have received numerous awards and recognitions including but not limited to: Outstanding Working Woman of Illinois and Woman of the Year from BPW, Community Champion from Silicon Graphics in CA, Woman of the Year from Tracy California Women's Forum as well as numerous local, state and national awards as an outstanding educator. I have also been privledged to be a keynote speaker around the country.
