Soccer has been my escape from reality for a long as I can remember. Mystress, tension, fear of failure, and anxiety all melt away as I sweat in theheat of the sun. I tend to doubt myself in most of my endeavors throughoutlife, but I find infinite security on the field. A ball at my feet is all Ineed to change the entire outlook on my day, my week, my month, my year, andultimately, my life. My passion for soccer builds every time I even think aboutthe sport, and I live every moment in excitement as I look forward to the nexttime that I can lace up my cleats and escape the busy nature of the real world. When I play the sport I love, time freezes. It’s as if the whole world hasstopped for me to enjoy the valuable time that I have with a soccer ball at myfeet. Soccer has been my escape for all of my tribulations, and it has shapedme into the person that I am today. The people I have met along my journey havebeen the reward to all of the obstacles in my life. The sport has brought mecloser to people I now consider family and role models. It has challenged me,but it has also rewarded me. It has pushed me, but it has also improved me. Iam strong. I am willing. I am hardworking. Beyond anything, I am passionate about the most beautiful thing in the world: the unifying game of soccer.
