Clare George-Hilley

Clare George-Hilley is a former Councillor in the London Borough of Croydon and is currently a Contributing Editor for The Commentator.

Clare is also a Director for the think-tank Parliament Street, campaigning on social and community issues. In January 2014, Clare launched a campaign in The Sunday Telegraph calling for more protection for Christian leaders against violent attacks. She has also conducted extensive media work including broadcast interviews with the Daily Telegraph andSky News. Clare has also contributed to articles in The Evening Standard, The Guardian, Telegraph Online and the Sunday Express.

Clare joined the Conservative Party when she was at school and has been a member for over sixteen years. She has been elected and appointed to various positions throughout the Conservative Party and served as Deputy Chairman for Conservative Future in both 2005 and 2010. She was the first ever Chairman of London Conservative Future in 2010, and in 2012 founded Conservative Future Women, with Home Secretary Theresa May MP.

She is passionate about helping others at home and abroad and served as a school governor for seven years. Clare supports The Glove Project in The Gambia and has volunteered with Street Child in Sierra Leone. In 2014, charity publication Civil Society covered a piece on Clare’s fundraising support work in The Gambia.
