Clark Boyd
Writer, Editor, and Journalist in Haarlem, Netherlands
I am a writer, editor and professional storyteller with more than two decades of experience working in US public broadcasting. My work has appeared on the radio, online, in print, and even on television.
For most of those 20-plus years, I worked for a US public radio news program called The World, moving from producer to reporter, then on to foreign correspondent and eventually showrunner. Through it all, I
was (and still am) prone to taking a sideways glance at just about any story that comes along.
I love traveling the globe searching for stories, no matter what the topic. From 2010 to 2012, I did a two-year stint for The World in Brussels, where I mostly covered Europe's ongoing financial crisis. Before that, I served as The World's technology correspondent, and also hosted a weekly technology podcast.
Somewhere in the midst of all these things, I also helped launch a weekly podcast for the BBC World Service called Boston Calling, and wrote a weekly column on technology for BBC online.
These days, I call Haarlem (the one in the Netherlands) home. I'm always on the lookout for the next opportunity to write, edit or produce something new and exciting.
Away from work, I enjoy fine Belgian beers and single malt Scotch whisky. I like books by Kurt Vonnegut, and early Miles Davis on vinyl. My latest forays into imperfection include baking and boxing.
