Many lifelong lessons can be taken from being part of a team or unit of any kind, for myself I learned those lessons through sports (football and lacrosse). I really enjoyed my time playing games I love with many close friends, but much more can be taken from sports than ust enjoyment. It has definitely been a blessing to have competed in athletics throughout high school and I have grown from the experience. Learning the value of teamwork through sports has helped prepare me for future situations in many aspects of life. The majority of people in the business world must have the skill to work and get along with others, which I certainly have learned through sports. Next, the American world thrives on competition as do sports. In many circumstances in order to have success people must have motivation, and put in the extra effort to surpass others. Having self motivation and a competitive attitude in all aspects of life will undoubtedly help people to be their best. I firmly believe I have a foundation in those two things through sports and hope to grow in those areas throughout my life. Although the purpose of sports rests in voluntary enjoyment, many life long lessons can be taken from participation in athletics.
