Think of this blog as the opposite of a newspaper. It's never going to be first with the scoop, never entice you with the high fructose whisper of inside information, never stick an elbow in the ribs of the nonexistent competition with an exclusive.

What it will offer is writing that happens after we stop trying to drink from the firehose of information that is always available, and try to decide just what we have swallowed.

I have been writing for money my entire adult life. Writing this blog just for the sake of writing it is kind of liberating. With no assignments except the ones I give myself, who knows what is going to land in this spot.
