STEAM teacher, passionate about space and recycling.

Clélia is a trilingual professional with a strong multidisciplinary background in applied sciences. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biotechnology from Canada in 2003. She then worked as a laboratory technologist at the Montreal Neurological Institute in Montreal, Quebec, conducting pain science research for three years.

In 2011, she studied Earth and Space Exploration at Arizona State University (ASU), specializing in astrobiology. During this time, she was a NASA/ASU Space Grant Fellow, researching the effects of antibacterial clay.

She participated in several ASU teams, including the Dust Devil microgravity team and the NASA/ASU ACSEND! stratospheric balloon launch team. She is a former event coordinator and former president of SEDS ASU (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space). She participated in the spectroscopy project for the ASU GEO-PIG in Yellowstone, focusing on hydrothermal vents.

Additionally, she is the former vice president of the Phoenix chapter of the National Space Society, the former chair of the 2019 SpaceUp Conference Phoenix, and the former co-chair of the 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019 Yuri's Night Phoenix World Space Party.

A couple of years ago, she was named Space Ambassador for Latin America by the National Space Society.. She has been the CEO of the Colectivo de AstroCultura, based in Mexico City, for the past four years. The collective organizes space science and AstroCultura outreach events in Mexico City and plans to expand its activities nationwide.

In July 2025, she was named the Mexican contact point for the newly formed Latin American Network for Planetary Sciences and Space Exploration.
