I have worked with 3 major nonprofits in New York City, which included, the Abyssinian Development Corporation, Women in Need and West Harlem Group Assistance. There I’ve held many positions, developed her craft and participated in several committees including working with the Department of Homeless Services on Ending Homelessness. I’ve worked for the Coalition for the Homeless in Washington DC and took my career to a higher level as Vice President of Programs for Reston Interfaith in Virginia,(which is now Cornerstones). There I received accolades for my involvement in the development of the Partnership to Permanent Housing Program, and working with local agencies in providing services that housed over 40 individuals and families from Hurricane Katrina.
I received my undergraduate degree from Touro College, Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University in New York City and my supervision training from Howard University. I am married to Retired SFC Derrick Clemons Sr. and together they have 5 children.
I am excited on my new venture Jaylen’s Journey and can’t wait to help as many families as possible. I spend most of my time with my family and traveling to visit my family and friends. I am enthusiastic, personable and believe in moving people forward and towards their personal best.
