Clic IH is a member of the International House World Organisation (IHWO). The IHWO was founded in 1953 and now includes 140 schools in more than 38 countries. Clic comprises Spanish language schools in Seville and Cadiz in southern Spain, allowing international visitors the chance to study the language in situ. Courses include intensive Spanish, combined internships, and Spanish for business. The choice to study Spanish in Spain ensures immersion, whereby constant interaction with native speakers causes language skills to develop rapidly.
A number of intensive courses are available to improve oral and written Spanish skills, with class sizes of fewer than 10 people. The General Spanish Intensive course can last from 1 to 11 weeks, and those with previous Spanish experience can begin studying on any Monday throughout the year. By comparison, Elite Intensive Plus classes combine 20 hours a week of group learning with an additional 10 hours of one-to-one tuition. This course is designed for students with specific language aims in mind, as private tuition allows flexibility within a short period of time.
For professional purposes, the Business Spanish course offers 4 weeks of full-time classes. Students focus on business-related terminology, presentation skills and negotiations. Finishing with an exam organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid, the current pass rate stands at 98%. Company internships can be combined with classroom learning for a more practical approach to the Spanish language. On an internship programme, students spend 2 weeks studying at the Spanish school before an 8- to 12-week internship. This allows language skills to be practised in the workplace and results in valuable experience and important business connections.
