That kind of headline is as fictional as Harry Potter. In actuality, I am a small part of one of America's greatest music lineages: songwriters who call Texas home.
With the likes of Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, Bruce Robison and Robert Earl Keen, just to name a few, Texas has a seriously deep legacy of songwriters, with more and more picking up guitar and pen every day.
So that's what I do. I pick up my guitar (or mandolin, piano... whatever's handy) and write songs. Then I take those songs and share them with willing ears.
It's a true blessing, if ever there was.
