Retired/Disabled in Halifax, United Kingdom

Read my blog

I'm a retired disabled (in a wheelchair) man aged 60 in Hebden Bridge , West Yorkshire although I lived in London for 45 odd years.

I'm very much the 'odd one out' I consider myself to be on the autistic spectrum as one with high functioning asperger's syndrome.

I live alone with my computers and synthesizers.

I love punk/indie/noise/electronic rock music. I've got Novation MiniNova, Roland JX-03, and Arturia Microbrute synthesizers and am trying to get back into making music again.

Politically I'm a Trotskyist (we're a dying breed). I am also anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-fascist, anti-homophobia and anti-transphobia. I'm a member of the Labour Party and support Jeremy Corbyn (critical of some of his issues). I used to be an active member of my Trade Union (UNISON) and was a shop steward for a while.

I'm passionate about LGBT matters. My last 2 girlfriends were Trans women.

I have now moved to a wheelchair enabled flat in Hebden Bridge.I'd like to be active in my local LUG and LGBT/Disabled issues. Trying to buy a cheap powered wheelchair.

I'm a computer geek. I curently have 2 desktop pcs (running Fedora),2 laptops (running Fedora), a laptop running Windows 10 (for music making), 1 mac mini(OS X), and an AlphaStation 255 (VMS) , a handful of Android tablets and an iPad.

In January 2014 I could still walk with the aid of a stick. I was admitted to Hospital with pneumonia and had a major fall and broke my right hip. Had a full replacement, broke that while in an Intermediate care hospital. Had the hip joint removed in October 2014. Since then I have had to use a wheelchair to get around. Have carers visit 3 times a day. Also have a catheter that appears to be permanent -- very emasculating. All three hip ops the consultant said "I normally advise people as ill as you to consider if you want to resusciated if you die on the table". I said yes to resuscitation.

Like everyone I guess i want "someone to love".
