Clive Simpkins is a marketing and communications strategist who helps people or organisations communicate and present themselves better. Whether interpersonally, to individuals, groups, inside or outside of the organisation or in the media for reputation management purposes.

A former retail, marketing & advertising executive with the JWT & Ogilvy advertising groups in South Africa and in New York City, he’s run his own consultancy in SA since 1986.

Clive has wide-ranging exposure to mining, financial services, FMCG, motor, pharmaceutical, mobile communications and many other business sectors.

His African continent clients include four Heads of State who he coached in media appearance skills.

He was pro bono parliamentary speechwriter and consultant to the late ANC first lady, Mrs Adelaide Tambo.

He hosted his own show on Talk Radio 702 several years back and is a regular radio and TV expert guest on media, reputation and crisis management and corporate or brand-image issues.

He’s the author of: 1. Media Appearance Secrets 2. Presenting, Speaking and Facilitating Secrets and 3. Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life, the latter with a foreword and endorsement by psychiatrist Dr Dora Wynchank.

A Speaker Hall of Fame member, he’s a technologically, sociologically and trends-literate veteran of the South African communications business. He’s the first recipient of the Professional Speakers Association of SA (PSASA) peer award in recognition of his contribution to communication in South Africa.
