Clodagh Dressler

Student, Dancer, and Volunteer in Fernie, British Columbia

Hi, I’m Clodagh! I’m a high school student living in Fernie, British Columbia. My pronouns are She/Her.

I'm interested in art, running, figure skating, volunteering, reading, writing, and dance.

I started skating at 15, and have grown to catch up to my peers, and am a dedicated participant. And now, I volunteer with my club to teach young children to skate.

Being from Fernie, I enjoy being outside, and like to spend my summers running and hiking on the trails around my town. My Strava is linked below if you want to check it out!

Reading and writing are also my hobbies, and I love to spend my time learning about different subjects, such as women's studies, psychology, and politics.

I am a passionate feminist, and I am a mentor with a Girls Leadership Group. I assist to plan meetings, and I work on building up confidence in young teen girls in my community. Another project I am passionate about it is Period Poverty, and I was part of a teen panel at an International Women's Day Event at the public library in my town.

I am also very interested in science, and have participated in my Regional Science Fair every year since grade 3. Recently, I won the College of the Rockies Young Scientist Award, and a Scholarship from the College of the Rockies for displaying exceptional work in terms of scientific design and originality.

I also enjoy travelling. I come from a school, and I conversationally speak French, German, and Spanish. This has given me a love and appreciation for other cultures.

Recently, I travelled to a small village in Germany, and lived with two families while attending a school. This experience taught me about resilience, independance, and communication skills.

Currently, I tutor different children in languages, math, science, and social studies. I also teach tap dancing to 5-6 year olds.

I am hard working, diligent, and an efficient worker. I love to learn about new perspectives, and am an effective communicator.

I enjoy being in a fast environment, and I love to learn.
