Candice Logan-Washington

Wife. Mother. Social Justice Educator.

Candice Logan-Washington is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and was educated in the Baltimore County Public School System where she is currently an English teacher. Candice attended Frostburg State University (BS), Coppin State University(M.Ed.) and The George Washington University(M.A in Ed.& H.D.) were she received degrees in Business and Education. Candice is currently enrolled as a third year doctoral student at Morgan State University, majoring in Urban Educational Leadership. Her research interests are issues of access for minority students in education, special education programs and service delivery and gifted populations. Candice is an active member Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and Frostburg Connections. Candice enjoys reading Literature, Social Networking, Volunteering and Marathon running, with hopes of running a full marathon in 2013. Her commitment to her family and the educational process have kept her focused; she hopes to become a university professor and then provost with a focus in student access and retention in higher education.

I believe 21st century teaching, learning and leading require us to let go of what we thought the educational landscape of the world looked like and embrace the dexterity, alternative routes and simple complexities that today's learners have to offer.
