Transitioning to college was a big step in my life that came with many changes. As a kid, my family moved around a lot but my childhood ultimately resided in Greensboro, North Carolina and so going to college in North Carolina was ideal to my family. As a freshman in high school, I could have never imagined to end up at such a big school like the University of Georgia.
Throughout high school, although I didn’t know everyone, I felt very involved and part of my school because of my position of student council. This being said, my decision to attend UGA was highly nerve wrecking because I knew of only two people who went there and knew it would be difficult to feel as involved as I did in high school. However, being a student at UGA turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made. I was able to meet an entirely new group of people and friends that I never would have met if I attended elsewhere. I was also able to become more independent due to me being five hours away from home and ultimately grow as a person.
