Hi, I'm Colleen, an educator, organizer, and risk manager. I have a background in outdoor and environmental education, inclusive community connection, wilderness medicine, and program leadership.

I grew up in New York City in awe of urban culture, the arts, and all built forms, which led to the pursuit of my B.A. in Art and Architectural History (Binghamton University). In a desire to understand a world beyond the urban, I began traveling. I spent time living and working in Alaska, Colorado, Arizona, Hawaii, and more, falling in love with the beauty and bio-diversity I encountered along the way. I hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine and was inspired to begin a graduate program in an environmentally focused field. After graduating with my M.S. in Park & Resource Management and Environmental Education (Slippery Rock University), I celebrated with another hike, completing 1,400 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, from Mexico to Northern California.

I now live in Seattle and I am thrilled to be part of a community of educators, activists, and adventurers here. After spending several years working with inspirational youth focused outdoor education programs, I combined my passions for education, environmental stewardship, and outdoor exploration in the form of an integrated experiential outdoor program at Westside Middle School.

I am always happy to connect with fellow outdoor educators and advocates for access equity, inclusion, and intersectionality.
