Rather Not Say

This blog is my own personal notepad. I compose drafts I might post to other sites. Many topics require a bit of research, and this is where I keep my notes while doing that research.

I also use this blog as I develop my own opinion about current events. Often I go into a topic feeling one way, but, after performing due diligence, I am swayed to the other side. I strongly believe in keeping an open mind. I am *none* of the following: republican, democrat, leftist, conservative, socialist, progressive, tea-partier, libertarian, etc. I take each issue on its own merits, regardless of political labels.

My father, and my grand-father, were newspapermen. My dad, especially, instilled in me a desire to hold journalists to a very high standard, one that most journalists fail to meet.

My goal is to hold media commentators accountable for their statements. I hear so many lies and half-truths; so much hyperbole and rhetoric; and way too much hypocrisy that I get ridiculously wound up (not good for the old blood pressure!).

I would like to critique left- and right-wing commentators equally. Alas, time is limited. Life is short. I work full time. I am busy raising a family (three kids!). I don’t get much opportunity to research all that I’d like.
