KRISTIN PONCEK

I grew up in Northwest Indiana in an area known as "The Region" and was brought up to have the mentality that getting your hands dirty isn't a bad way to live your life. Sounds lame, but it's true. This is evidenced by the variety of jobs I've had since I was 15, and what I've learned from each. Drying mass quantities of cattails for autumn floral arrangements taught me that getting paid by the bushel is a complete sham. Bagging groceries showed me that everything has a logical place (and that I have a slight case of OCD). Stocking office supplies gave me a love for writing instruments that probably seems a bit overboard. And, customer service has taught me that people will almost always hear you out if you're confident in what you're saying.

Before I was old enough to work, I spent a good deal of time at car shows. Weird right? I mean, what is a 10-year-old girl doing hanging out with her dad by the A-Team van while gear heads are hawking motor oil? I was enjoying it, that's what I was doing. And odd as it may be, my love for design actually started with an instructional book on drawing cars that I was awarded in second grade for reading the most books in class. Let me tell you, Mrs. Blastick's class had quite the heated competition.

Besides cars, I have a deep love for college towns, carbs, my bright orange bike (which I have barely ridden because I have an irrational fear of getting hit by a car), Prosecco, knowing certain Pantone colors by heart and reading. I also thoroughly enjoy freelance design work. But, this means I've got a day job, and a night job...which isn't all that bad when you're doing something you love. When I'm not consumed with design work, I can be found obsessing over my dislike of hot drinks (coffee included) and discussing the amazingness that was '80s cartoons.

If you'd like to find out what makes me tick, or request a quote for a design project, feel free to drop me a line.
