An advocate for creative approaches to communication and fundraising, Christopher Nelson has nearly 20 years of experience creating and executing strategic communication campaigns that achieve results. As the Executive Director of the University of Utah Hospital Foundation he develops and oversees strategies to increase community awareness and financial support for University Hospital and clinical programs associated with University of Utah Health Care. Prior to his work at the foundation, he served for 10 years as the chief spokesperson for Utah’s only academic health system. In that role he oversaw an 18-member team responsible for strategic and executive communication, media relations, social media, and internal communication. He is a graduate of the University of Utah with degrees in mass communication and political science, and completed internships in the Office of Public Liaison in the Clinton White House, Salt Lake City’s KSL television, and the President’s Office at the University of Utah.
