Chris Nicola

Chris Nicola is a worldwide caving expedition organizer, leader, and lecturer. He is the co-author of "The Secret of Priest's Grotto: A Holocaust Survival Story" and runs the Priest's Grotto Heritage Project. He is a retired senior investigator for New York State, with a law enforcement career spanning nearly 40 years. His past roles include union organizer, police officer in Washington D.C., bar manager and bouncer, adjunct lecturer, bodyguard, undercover investigator in NYC schools, and civilian operative for the FBI. An avid explorer, Nicola began scuba diving in the caves of central Florida in the mid-70s and has led over 40 caving expeditions across the Americas, Oceana, Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe. He was also the subject of the documentary "No Place on Earth," which chronicles his research into the Holocaust cave story. [1, 3]
