Cody Vildostegui grew up in Key West, FL. He attended the University of Florida, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and Florida Blue Key.

As a student he interned for Senator Mel Martinez in Washington, DC. Graduating in 2010, Cody became a political campaign coordinator, interned for Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and served on the Republican Executive Committee in Monroe County.
