Col Anand Singh

Col. Anand Singh Shekhawat, born 1957 in Mundru, educated at Sainik School, Chittorgarh; graduate of prestigious military academies N.D.A. and I.M.A., wherein he excelled in horse riding and won his Spurs; voluntarily undertook five parachute jumps at Sarsawa and learnt the Tibetan language. He participated in Himalayan Car rally (1986) and stood First in Desert Rally (1995); he had the honour of looking after the security of President of India, Giani Zail Singh in 1986, and R. Venkataraman in 1987, during their visits to Army Units; associated with Security arrangements for launch of Agni missile tests (1998-1999); has had staff appointments as General Staff Officer (Intelligence) Grade III in a Mountain Brigade and Deputy Assistant Quarter Master General in an Infantry Division. Besides various appointments in the Indian Army also served in DRDO, NCC and incharge of Media related activities in the Army at Command level.
