Collis Basarey

I've never been good at talking about myself, because I think one cannot be objective when describing oneself. Neither can others, but at least, it would be a bit more objective. If I weren't writing under a penname, I'd have recommended you to contact my friends. Yet I am, so I guess (except one) none of my friends will know about this. But I'm not sure, we'll see. And for now, I'll try to be as objective as I can.

As you may have recognized, I really love starting sentences with conjunctions. There's no apparent reason, but you know, somethings are just the way they are. I'm not saying there are no reasons at all; on the contrary, I believe nothing can stay unexplained. It's just I don't know, but hope to know soon.

I love reading. I've been reading since I learned how to do so. School can't teach you everything, school can't be enough. School can't please everybody, so it chooses to please parents. (Though my French teacher is actually intellectual and she talks about things, about life -not only grammar and vocabulary.) But books can. Books can teach you the Big Bang, books can teach you philosophy... Books can teach you anything you want, as long as you want! That's why reading isn't a spare time activity for me, but an activity I spare time for.

I love art. Whether it's painting or sculpture, cinema or theatre. Art is lovely, art is what we need to be complete as human beings. Without art, we'd be machines programmed to learn math, algebra, science etc... and work. And whether you like it or not, somethings are art, too. For example, contemporary art. People keep saying "So what? There are colored lines all over, and nothing else!" and ignoring the fact it's a way of expressing one's ideas and feelings --what make us people. For example: Picasso. It's one of the greatest artists of cubism. You don't have to like him or his paintings, there's no such obligation! But you must regard it as art, and respect his way of expressing himself.

I'm an animal lover. (Tree hugger's also possible to be said.) I respect nature, because we live in it and without it, we probably wouldn't have existed! Maybe under different forms, because evolution may vary and it's about adaptation. Whatever, I'm not here to talk about science. To conclude: I believe in nature and I think we -any living thing you can think of- must live in harmony.

Bye! (For now...)
