Cole MacDonald
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Since 2013, I have worked for MakerKids, a MakerSpace in the Toronto area. I design curriculum for courses, develop internal instructional guides and teach STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) classes to youth. I have also consulted with international corporations to advise on positioning their offerings to the K-12 market.
I was invited to speak on a panel at the MARS Discovery District, discussing how STEM can play a role in the future of our education system. I have represented MakerKids at ‘MakerFaire’ trade shows in Toronto and New York.
I also have presented to the Ontario Principals Council on technology’s role in the 21st century classroom, working with principals to give guidance on which technologies should be adopted in their schools. Additionally, I have hosted and designed seminars for teachers to integrate STEM learning (such as 3D printing) into their classrooms.
During high school, I served as President, Vice-President and Secretary of the student council and am attending Queen's University for Electrical and Computer Engineering Innovation.
I enjoy photography, hockey, golf and cooking in my spare time.
