Coleman Lindberg

St. Paul, MN

Coleman Lindberg is a Twin Cities-based singer/songwriter. He got his start singing and playing piano in the Methodist church and began writing original folk and pop songs while attending the Perpich Center for Arts Education Golden Valley, MN. After leaving college to be a folk singer Coleman released several independently-produced recordings and traveled across the country and overseas, often surviving by busking on the streets of New York, London, Amsterdam and Jerusalem. He helped form the band Winter Machine in 2001 and released a full-length album the following year. The band found critical success but disbanded in 2003 so its members could pursue individual projects. In 2006 Coleman released a 7-song EP called "Making My Name." It was met with positive reviews in the local press and Coleman performed extensively in the Twin Cities area and upper Midwest to promote it. What was meant to be a brief break from performing turned into a five-year hiatus, with Coleman returning to the industry in 2011 to attend McNally Smith College of Music to study music business and songwriting. In fall of 2012 Coleman began work on his newest project entitled "Skylines," a 9-song tribute/love letter to the cities he grew up in. Each song tells a different personal story of longing, redemption and survival with the urban landscape of the Twin Cities as a backdrop. After completing a successful crowdfunding campaign through the website RocketHub, Coleman is readying his new record for release on October 6, 2013 and booking a variety of performances for fall and winter.
