Denise Coleman

Mississippi

I was born near Chicago, Illinois and later moved to Long Beach, California along with my siblings to live with my grandmother. After a brief stay in California, our family moved to Mississippi. Upon graduating high school, I wasn’t aware of the financial support provided by universities to offer people, like me, with limited means, an opportunity to attend college. Consequently, I missed the opportunity of attending college upon graduating high school. So, I worked diligently, met lots of people, and worked hard to advance into better paying jobs. I began inching my way to a better education receiving a degree in computer programming. Additionally, I received my BSIS with a concentration in business and technology. Currently, I am working on my Masters.

My career has taken me through some exciting positions from Human Resources Management, working with budgets, to serving as editor of a statistical abstract.

It is humbling to know just how much I do not know when I study. I will always be a student. Education is important in our lives. My employment has provided me with long term education. I love my job! I love taking classes! I love my family! I love God!

BTW, there are some very impressive biographies that I have read at about.me. Impressive...
