Colin Malcolm
Hi!
I'm Colin Malcolm.
I am a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America in one of the smallest councils in the United States. Working in a small council has trained me for the high pressures of the corporate world. It has tested both my organization and my time management capabilites. Undertaking multiple tasks at once my ability to prioritize has been my saving grace. On a daily basis I interact with clients, and families. Whether its on multiple social media platforms, or face to face interaction. Developing relationships and keeping them happy is by far the most important aspect of my job as a District Executive.
I develop boys into more confident, more social, and more independent young men that will one day become the strong leaders of the United States. This single reason is what makes this job so enjoyable. To be a part of an organization that will help build the character of youth and give them expereinces that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
My Career Aspirations
Though I work for the Boy Scouts of America, I am passionate about all things media. My career goals revolve around managing reputations, brands, and communicating with publics. There is something rewarding about knowing that a companies security and future is being helped and guided by an individual and I would love to be a part of something that meaningful in my life. When I took my PR Theory class and studied hours upon hours case studies and solutions it made me excited to know I was studing to be a part of something that can impact so many people. Knowing that I can communicate with people through social media outlets and other media platforms to give information that can keep clients reputations positive, build a brand, and make the general public happy will always be my professioanl aspiration.
