Colleen Murray

My name is Colleen Murray and I am a junior Economics major with a concentration in business. I love economics because I have a strong interest in the stock market and the causes and effects of the world and its economy on the financial markets.

I developed my interest in the investment management industry this past summer when I worked as an intern in Boston and New York for an incredible company called International Strategy & Investment is a top rated investment research firm on wall street offering its clients the most up to date in depth research on current market conditions. I spent a lot of time alongside the most intelligent research analysts and portfolio managers of investment firms. I was able to shadow the head traders at the firm and learn as much as I could during my summer internship. I hope to return back this upcoming summer.

During the school year, I am able to further my interest in investment by working at State Street Corporation in Hadley. I am a screening analyst which requires me to designate incoming trades and faxes to their appropriate queues.

Outside of my professional passion, I enjoy playing and watching sports. I am a member of the UMass Womens Club Lacrosse team and have been so since freshman year. I have been an avid Red Sox fan since I was very little and love to go to my favorite place in the world (Fenway Park) multiple times every season.
