I am the proud Founder/Executive Director of Empowered Youth, a Miami-based 501c3 that serves inner-city, at risk boys between the ages of 13-18. Our program works to give these youth the support, resources and opportunities they need become successful. I am also the CEO of Empowered Youth Entrepreneurs, a Limited Liability company that was founded to create jobs for Empowered Youth students and graduates. The boys first business is an urban apparel line called EY StreetWear. The boys design and sell the line and profits are used to pay the boys, purchase new inventory, expand the line and ultimately to create an educational fund for the boys in the business. The business allows the boys to earn legal money, learn entrepreneurial skills and ultimately to become formally educated in whatever profession or trade they choose. Opportunity is the ticket out of the hood.
