Taylor Paige Collier
Greenville, NC
Hey, I'm Taylor Collier ! I'm from Four-points, NC, a tiny little town right outside Fayetteville. I am currently a freshman at East Carolina University studying psychology. I have wanted to become a physician since I was nine years old. I began shadowing doctors and surgeons when I was 14, since then I have been volunteering in hospitals and doctors offices. I have been in the operating room during fourteen surgeries including: cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, general, OB/GYN and plastic surgery.
Throughout high school I was very involved. I was in the Cape Fear High School Marching Band where we were ranked #1 in North Carolina and #32 in the Nation. My senior year I was the Captain of the Front Ensemble. I was in the Natural Science Academy, Red Cross Club, and National Society of High School Scholars. I also attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill and LeadAmerica at Johns Hopkins.
During College I plan on getting involved in the ECU Ducks Unlimted, ECU ambassadors, volunteering for the Alumni Association and joining a sorority my sophmore year. I want to volunteer at Victory Junction, a summer camp for children with special needs, over the summer as a councelor. I also was accepted into the Jarvis Leadership Program for my freshman year of college.
I am very dedicated to becoming a doctor. I think it would be the best feeling to know that I helped save someones life.
