Eibh Collins
Program Director in Ireland
Hi, I’m Eibh Collins, an Irish film programmer and talent development programme director. I’m passionate about championing short films and emerging voices, with a strong focus on addressing diversity, inclusion, and accessibility within the Irish film industry. I regularly speak on panels about representation, with particular attention to disabled and neurodiverse creatives.
I began my career managing and programming film festivals in Ireland and internationally. In 2010, I started working with the Galway Film Fleadh, where my work in programming deepened my commitment to short films and filmmaker development. After working across Film, Fringe, Live Arts, LGBTQIA+, and Documentary festivals domestically, I expanded into the international Irish film circuit, collaborating with Irish film festivals in Los Angeles, Luxembourg, London, Rome, and New York.
In 2013, at just twenty-one, I became Manager of Irish Film London and IndieCork Festival. These roles allowed me to further support independent Irish filmmakers while strengthening international industry connections.
In 2016, I began curating and touring programmes of new Irish short films at festivals and film markets worldwide. These programmes showcased the depth and range of Irish filmmaking talent while promoting Ireland’s screen industry on a global stage. This work led to my role as Duty Director of Irish Screen America, and later to my appointment as Festival Director of Kerry International Film Festival, a position I held from 2019 to 2022. In 2022, I also became an Associate Short Film Programmer for South by Southwest, contributing to the selection of short films for the festival in Austin, Texas.
I currently work across multiple roles within the Irish and international film industry, including Programme Director of the National Talent Academy for Film & TV, Director of Shorts for the Oscar-qualifying Galway Film Fleadh, Talent Development Executive at Ardán, and Associate Short Film Programmer for SXSW.
Primarily, in my role as Programme Director of the National Talent Academy for Film & TV, I oversee the development and delivery of national training initiatives that support screen creatives across Ireland. My work focuses on creating accessible, inclusive, and industry-responsive pathways into film and television, with a strong emphasis on underrepresented voices. This includes designing programmes that address skills gaps and systemic barriers, reduce obstacles to participation, and embed best practice around equity, diversity, and sustainability across the screen sector.
Central to this role is collaboration — working closely with industry partners, educators, broadcasters, funders, and creatives to ensure training remains relevant, practical, and impactful. I am particularly passionate about building long-term talent pipelines and fostering environments where Irish creatives can thrive.
Across all my work, my goal remains the same: to support filmmakers, strengthen the Irish screen ecosystem, and help Irish talent reach audiences at home and around the world.
Always happy to help where possible. If you’d like to get in touch, please feel free to email me.
