NATASHA COLLISHAW

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Since I was a little girl, I have loved writing largely because I meet so many people with such interesting and inspiring stories that raise important questions about who we are and how we should live our lives.

I am currently a Master's student in Communication and Culture, a joint interdisciplinary program between Ryerson and York University and I am enjoying learning so much from different approaches to generating knowledge. I am working part-time with the Bahá'í Community of Canada to initiate a collaborative writing process about community building across the country. I also work on reviewing submissions and editing them for that organization. I am fluently trilingual in English, French, and Spanish, and have a basic knowledge of Persian. I am lucky to be active in a number of youth serving organizations that are learning in action about how to bring diverse groups of young people together to work towards the transformation of society. For the past five years, I have been writing the life story of my 90 year-old grandmother Aghdas Javid and hope to finish her story soon.
