“The thing I propose to take as common ground between myself and any average reader, is this desirability of an active and imaginative life, picturesque and full of a poetical curiosity…”
G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
You and I probably don’t agree on everything. Actually, we probably don’t agree on many things at all. There are so many things in this world that keep us divided: politics, religion, education, social status. The list never seems to end. But “just because it’s what’s done doesn’t mean it’s what should be done” (Cinderella). Regardless of what you think or believe, you have an inherent love for stories and what they have to offer. I know because I have it too. We all do. Stories speak a universal language, and they give us a place to meet on equal terms, as fellow humans. I propose to explore this language, this common ground, and discover what I can. You are most welcome to join me!
