Communion San Francisco
Communion Music Group is an artist-led organization with branches in concert promotion, music publishing, recording and production. Founded by Ben Lovett (Mumford and Sons), former Cherbourg bassist Kevin Jones, and acclaimed producer Ian Grimble, Communion has evolved out from the sometimes faceless vacuum of the music industry, to create a space for honest, independent champions of good music.
Since our humble beginnings hosting shows in a West London basement bar, we've branched out across the UK to Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, York, Oxford, Dublin and Belfast, and internationally to Sydney, Nashville, New York City, and now San Francisco—where we are pleased work in association with beloved independent Bay Area promotions group (((folkYEAH!))) Presents.
Each monthly show is a meeting place for music lovers, songwriters, and musicians to connect, inspire, and encourage one another to thrive, evolve and prosper.
The monthly night has now seen the likes of Noah and the Whale, Laura Marling, Mumford and Sons, JJ Pistolet and Peggy Sue all grace the stage from the very start of their fledgling careers. In San Francisco we have featured a diverse range of artists from Nick Waterhouse to Soft White Sixties, Seventeen Evergreen to Kacey Johansing, Jackie Greene to White Magic, all in keeping with the eclectic ethos that Communion has come to stand for.
Join us in San Francisco on the first Wednesday of each month at Brick & Mortar Music Hall.
