My name is John, I am just an ordinary person who has spent his life bringing up his five children and mostly working in the sales, marketing and training field, mainly in the specialist recruitment industry, but i have also worked in diverse jobs from the foreign office to a greengrocers in my life. I mainly worked within the Engineering and Construction industry but again i have a wide range of experience across most vocations, from both low paid temporary jobs up to CEOs of major global companies.

About ten years ago i semi retired after spending a lot of time working abroad on some of the worlds most famous and iconic building projects, including the Petronas Towers in Malaysia and new airport in Hong Kong amongst others. I invested my savings in a dream of mine and set up a sports bar restaraunt and ran the project from concept through design to implementation, looking back i have never worked under such pressure and never have i had a steeper learning curve in business..

A week before i opened to the public i suffered a serious spinal injury, i didnt know then but i would spend the next two years pretty much on my back, and end up with a ten year fight to save my health and my own sanity at times. i am still severly disabled and will always have some serious health issues but i am determined to never give up on my fight to both regain some quality of life and my self esteem but also to show my children that no matter what life throws at you, no matter how tough life gets, you can find the strength and determination to pick yourself up off the ground, dust yourself down and overcome the adversity that life throws at us all

. I am lucky and blessed that i live in a country that gave me and my family the help and support that at times fed my kids and kept a roof over my head, i write extensivly about my life in other parts of this site, i do so because i have learnt that it is only by being open and honest about the subjects and personal issues that destroy our self esteem and make us feel worthless , can we begin to break the devastating hold and effect they have upon us.

It is hard confronting the emotions the writing brings up at times but i truly believe that if by sharing my thoughts and experiences i can not only show my kids that no matter how rough and hard life gets you never give in but also if by sharing my experiences they help anyone else facing difficult and hard times then it is worth my efforts.
